Of all things … I have strep throat. Again. 2nd time in 2 months.
The half marathon is in 9 days. I’ve run 3.5 miles this week and I have no clue when I’ll be able to run again. I was supposed to run 5 yesterday – didn't happen (hello 103 degree fever). I still feel like crud today – my entire body aches and I don't think it would be in my best interest to attempt a run.
Needless to say I’m freaking! I guess I will be extra rested? That’s a good thing –right?

You MUST get better. Give your strep throat a swift kick and get better girl. We've got a race to run. Thankfully, you have over a week to get better!

ReplyDeleteHope that you get better! Strep is awful!
ReplyDeletejust give your body the rest it needs and youll be ok! dont stress about the race, youll be fine!
ReplyDeleteFeel better! You've trained hard! You will do fine!
ReplyDeleteSister, you are a GODDESS! I am following you to lose weight!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! The extra rest will do your body good, it knows what it needs. As far as the Strep here's a tip for you. I'm a dental hygienist and I tell patients to gargle with Listerine for a full 45 seconds (not the generic or Zero brand) at the first sign of a sore throat. It will burn but kills the bacteria. I used to get step all the time, it's been 7 years now since I've had it. Worth a try. Take Care!!
ReplyDeleteDogs can be carriers of strep-- so if you have a dog in your house, call your vet and explain that you need to prophetically treat your dog too!
ReplyDeleteWe've seen a lot of that in the vet clinic this winter/spring...
I am so sorry to hear about this Amanda - hopefully by now you are better! But listen to your body first and foremost!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Biz
